Day One: Sunday
Welcome to Sabina

Your Libellula Harvest Week begins the moment you arrive. Libellula will provide transportation from Rome Fiumicino Airport or Termini Station to Sabina, less than an hour north of Rome.

After settling in, we'll gather for a welcome aperitivo and introduce you to the land, the harvest, and the week ahead. The evening concludes with a relaxed welcome dinner inspired by the flavors and traditions of the Italian countryside.

Welcome to Libellula. Welcome to the harvest!

Day Two: Monday
Your First Day in the Olive Groves

The harvest begins! After breakfast, we'll head into the olive groves for your first full day among the trees. Those who wish to participate can roll up their sleeves and join the harvest, learning how olives are carefully picked and gathered.

There is no obligation to work: there will always be food, drinks, comfortable places to rest, and plenty of time simply to enjoy being among the olive trees. Lunch will be served outdoors in the grove; a true harvest lunch surrounded by the Sabina countryside.

Later, we'll follow the freshly picked olives to the local mill. You'll see how the olives harvested that very day are transformed into fresh Olio Nuovo, and experience the extraordinary moment of tasting the new oil directly from the mill.

Dinner will be at the farm or in one of our nearby villages.

Day Three: Tuesday
Farfa Abbey & The Villages of Sabina

Abbazia_di_Farfa_veduta.jpeg__PID:7d094ce2-1cc4-44fe-a67c-f1f88d94fa01

Today is dedicated to discovering the history, culture, and landscape surrounding Libellula.

We'll visit the magnificent Abbey of Farfa, explore medieval villages and historic sites, and see one of the area's oldest olive trees. Throughout the day, you'll encounter traces of the many civilizations that have shaped this part of Italy, from ancient Rome through the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.

Lunch will be at a carefully selected local restaurant, with time to enjoy the villages and experience the slower rhythm of Sabina life.

Day Four: Wednesday
Back to the Harvest & Italian Cooking

We return to the groves for another day of olive harvesting.

By now, you'll begin to understand the rhythm of the harvest: the trees, the people, the weather, the food, and the anticipation of seeing each day's olives become fresh oil. Lunch will once again be enjoyed in the countryside.

In the late afternoon, we'll exchange the olive grove for the kitchen. A local chef will lead us through an Italian cooking experience, preparing traditional dishes inspired by the season and the territory. And, naturally, we'll enjoy everything we've prepared together for dinner.

Day Five: Thursday
Discover Central Italy

Today we travel a little farther from home for a full day exploring one of central Italy's great cultural destinations. Depending on the interests of the group, we'll visit Orvieto, Perugia, Spoleto, Assisi, or Tivoli. The day's itinerary may also include Deruta, the Umbrian town famous for its hand-painted ceramics and the place where Libellula's original hand-painted terracotta pieces were created.

For guests interested in Italian wine, we can also arrange a visit and tasting at a selected local winery. It is a day devoted to art, landscape, food, craftsmanship, and the extraordinary cultural richness that surrounds Sabina.

Day Six: Friday
Your Day, Your Italy

Your final full day is deliberately left open. Return to Rome for the day. Head to the Mediterranean coast, approximately an hour away. Come back with us to the olive groves or visit the mill again. Explore a nearby village. Or simply stay, relax, read, walk, and enjoy the countryside. This is your day to experience Italy exactly as you wish.

In the evening, everyone comes together again for our Farewell Harvest Dinner. Each guest will receive a certificate recognizing their participation in the Libellula harvest, and, we hope, leave feeling like a genuine member of our harvest community.

Day Seven: Saturday
Arrived as Guests. Leaving as Harvest Members.

After a final breakfast together, it will be time to say goodbye. Libellula will provide transportation to Rome Fiumicino Airport or Termini Station for your onward journey.

For guests who choose to continue their travels in Italy, we'll be delighted to recommend special places to stay, eat, visit, and explore.

And although Harvest Week comes to an end, your relationship with Libellula does not. You'll have followed the olives from the tree to the mill, tasted the season at its freshest, shared meals with the people who make it possible, and become part of a tradition that returns every autumn.

Come for the olive harvest.
Experience the real Italy.
Leave as part of Libellula.

Please note that slight schedule changes are possible based on your needs, desires and climatic conditions. All guests are covered by a personal insurance policy. Libellula provides one-on-one assistance for any emergency. All transfers are provided by Libellula.
